Proposed FAQ: "I tried to customize my journal and now it won't display. Why?"

Also proposed in customization.

<lj-cut text="FAQ proposal" I tried to customize my journal and now it won't display. Why? The most common cause of this problem is that you have entered overrides in the wrong format, or you are missing several required tags in your overrides. For more information on proper syntax of overrides, including all necessary tags, please see (insert URL of "My overrides won't work. What's wrong?"). In particular, if you have an opening comment (<!--) with no closing comment after the CSS style declaration (-->), your journal will not display. To fix this, you can edit your overrides and include the missing tags or correct the syntax. If you require further help with CSS syntax, you can search for "CSS tutorial" in your favorite search engine. Another common reason for this problem is that your overrides have been improperly merged. For information on merging overrides, please see http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=howto&itemid=4516 . It's also possible that your journal isn't displaying because of high load on LiveJournal's servers. For information about this problem, please see http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=116 . If this is the case, refreshing your page will often cause it to display properly.
