shared journals?

Translation item /doc/tour/index.bml.comms.caption says "we offer the ability to create communities, or journals that many people can post to."

This reminds me of shared journals, a thing which I never understood anyway, and which I though was going to be taken away. Maybe 'or' should be changed into 'which are', if that was the intent of the text. Then again, maybe it is hinting at something else which I don't know about, in that case I'd like to know what so I can translate appropriately.
