Please add more information to FAQ:6 (How do I add pictures to my journal entries?)

Current version:

To add a picture to your journal entry, use an "img" tag where you want it to appear:

<img src="http://www.yourwebsite.com/somepicture.jpg" alt="title or description" />

Please see http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=130 for information on image loading requirements.

Suggestion Revision:

To add an image/picture to your journal entry, use an inline <img> HTML tag where you want the image/picture to appear:

<img src="http://www.your-website.com/image.jpg" alt="title or description" />

Within the code, the value assigned to src, http://www.your-website.com/image.jpg, must be replaced by the actual URL of the image you want to display.

The value assigned to alt can be a short summary referencing the context of the image. This will allow the text summary to appear (in place of the image) while the image is loading This also allows text appear when the user hovers over the image. If you do not wish to include any summary text, simply leave out the alt entirely or use alt="".

(literal translation: alt=<double quote><double quote>)

Please see http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=130 for information on image loading requirements.

Reason for changes:

1) Not enough information is provided explaining what src and alt does.
2) Using the same example URL as that of the background URL will help things be a little consistent.

Color highlighting is optional :)

Proposed change to FAQ 81

I think that FAQ 81 should be changed. This is what I think it should be changed to (but feel free to change wording and such if it doesn't make sense). Changes are in bold:

Title:
If I join a community, and make a friends only or custom security post in my journal, can the other members of the community see my post?

Content:
No. If you add a community to your friends list, the only people able to see your "friends only" or "custom security" posts are the actual community account and any members of the community which you had already listed as your friend.

Update: You can't really tell, but that comma after "If you add a community to your friends list" is bold as well. It should be added in to make the sentence run more smoothly.
  • Current Music
    Nothing.

How do I add a link to another journal or another web site in my entry?

Could one / should one not add the information about the target attribute of the a tag.

Domething like an added sentence:

if you want the link to open a new browser window it should be written like:
<a href="http://www.anothersite.com/interestingpage.html" target="_blank"> look at an interesting page</a>

Note anothersite.com seems to actually exist. ( the only wellformed but invalid URL I know are www.com.de ; www.org.de; www.mil.de ( due to rules of German Nic www.denic.de domains that look like top level domains are not alowed as German second level domains ))

Note all of the above ned better phrasing probably.

While I an on this; I probably could help with a German translation of LiveJournal who do I contact with this offer
