Proposed FAQ:

There seems to be a new email scam targeting LiveJournal users, effectively asking them for their login information by visiting a URL that almost matches "livejournal.com". If you receive this email or any others bearing a similar resemblence, please disregard it entirely, and certainly do not click on the link provided.

Dear LiveJournal user,
We have recently noticed that you haven't updated your LiveJournal in
awhile. If you would like to keep your LiveJournal account, you must sign in
within the next 24 hours.
You may sign in at: {link removed}
Failure to sign in within the next 24 hours will result in account termination.

LiveJournal does not delete accounts for simple inactivity, and the reasoning behind this can be found in FAQ 127:
Even though it may appear that a user is no longer updating their journal, this can be misleading; the user might be making Friends-Only posts, or simply use the account for reading friends' posts and commenting on them. Some users also find themselves without Internet access for prolonged periods of time, but will continue with their journal at a later date.

I think that we need an FAQ to address this situation, especially if it ever arises again in the future. This way, users have a definitive resource warning them about the scam. I know that not everyone reads the FAQs, but if they do happen to stumble across such an email, they might get curious and go look. Also, I know that this was posted to news, but I doubt many people who would be affected by this scam read news, either. Just a suggestion, there for the taking or leaving.

Possible change to /submit_do.bml

http://www.livejournal.com/support/submit_do.bml says:

"Your LiveJournal support request has been filed and will be answered as soon as possible. Your request tracking number is XXXXX. You can track its progress here: "

Can we get something added here that says, oh, hell, I dunno. "Please be mindful that the support system is run by volunteers and as such may not be answered immediately" and maybe something that says "complex customization questions may take extra time"

I'd personally like to see the "as soon as possible" deleted, but, that's me.

Opinions?

(Also, any such editing will also have to be applied to the e-mail that is sent out...)

Proposed FAQ change to #96 (How can I change what my "comments" links say?)

Requesting slight modifications to two of the overrides classes offered for comments. Since 'Generator' style is currently using class="comments" ... why not include those same classes for the other two overrides .. for greater customization in the future.

Here are the override codes. This first group of overrides are compatible with the "Default LiveJournal", "Punquin Elegant w/ Sidebar", "Notepad", "Refried Paper", "Clean and Simple", "Disjointed", and "Magazine" styles.

If you are using the "Generator" or "Tabular Indent" styles, take the appropriate codes from the two labeled sections that follow after.
