FAQ changes summary, etc.

Summary post time! I can only post about what I know happened (mostly stuff I did), so if you did something I don't know about, you'll have to speak for yourself.

gooner fixed FAQs 2, 3, and 119 to include information about the new Delete Entry button.
[link]

burr86 fixed FAQ 25 to include a note that if you have few entries, you might prefer to create a new account rather than rename.

FAQ 6 - Reversed order of examples to put the simpler one first, now suggests the use of lj-cut with images (and links to 75).
[link,link]

FAQ 67 - Information about auto-linkification added, and examples adjusted to be more efficient, per timwi's suggestion.
[link]

FAQ 85 - Added specific link to /interests.bml and note about search box on some system schemes, per pne's suggestion. Also added info about what actually happens in searches depending on number of results.
[link]

FAQ 47 - Changed wording to add the term "comments" and put "message boards" in parens, per suggestion of opal1159. Also did a general wording update, changed description of using calendar to FAQ 70 link (per suggestion made by rho in the linkage bits), and linked discussion of security to FAQ 49, which is a clarification of the point that memory security is different from entry security.
[link]

FAQ 92 - Changed description of where backdated entries appear, per suggestion of rho. General cleanup and addition of security descriptions (because Refried Paper doesn't use the icons), added link to lj-maint and killed link to support/submit/bml as long as I was at it, per earlier suggestion of rho in the linkage bits.
[link]

FAQ 72 - Updated allowed tags in posts and comments, noting that the list there is not exhaustive, and that comments don't allow form tags. Changed link from /download to FAQ 158, and added a note that some clients have HTML preview.
[link]

FAQ 69 - Added info about lj user and lj comm tags, and link to 75. This was in rho's linkage bits, but I felt bad that I omitted those tags in my previous rewrite of FAQ 69, so I did it now.

FAQ 62 - Added link to 115 (where are my comment emails?) , because I thought it needed to be there (there's a whole discussion of comment emails with no link to "why am I not getting them"). It wasn't in rho's bits.

Yes, there are five mentions of rho previous to the mention that counts the mentions.

Proposed Drafts (Title and Subtitle, Inactive Userpics, Mood and Music)

FAQ 7. This is a proposal for adding the info about how to set title and subtitle somewhere -- redfarmer proposed a new FAQ, but I think it fits fine in 7. I propose to add the paragraph below just after "The easiest way is to just change the colors or select from pre-defined system styles at http://www.livejournal.com/modify.bml."

You can also set a title and subtitle for your journal by visiting http://www.livejournal.com/editinfo.bml while logged in. Scroll down to the section labeled "LiveJournal Options" and type in the title and subtitle you would like. These will appear in your profile and the title will appear in the title of your journal and friends pages when viewed in a browser.

FAQ 46. asciident requested a draft for this, either to add to 46 or for a new FAQ. I think it'll fit in 46. The first clause below is the same as a clause in the current text, and the rest attaches there.

If your paid status expires and you have more images currently stored on the server than your account type allows, some of your user pictures will be marked "inactive." Which pictures will be marked "inactive" is dependent on the frequency with which each one has been used in the last six months in your own journal. The pictures you have used most frequently in your own journal will remain active: six pictures for Early Adopters, and three for users with Free Accounts.

Inactive pictures will will remain visible in all old entries or comments that you made using them. However, you will not be able to choose to use the inactive icons on new entries or comments. In order to restore the inactive icons to activity, you would need to return your account to paid status.

If you decide to upload a new picture when you are at or over the maximum for your current account type, you will need to delete pictures until you are at the correct number of pictures for your current account type and have made room for the new pictures.

FAQs 32 and 34. This is a proposed draft for combining them. The original suggestion was made by finding_helena.

Q. How do I add my current mood and current music to my journal entries?

In order to add your current mood or current music to a journal entry, you can use the full mode of the web update client (http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml?mode=full, also accessible by clicking the three dots (...) next to Update in the site menus). The web update client shows fields for Current Mood and Current Music at the bottom of the page.

To enter your current mood, you can select an option from the dropdown list, or you can leave the selection on "None, or other:" and type your mood into the text box provided.

To enter your current music, type it into the text box provided.

Many downloaded clients also support the ability to add this data to your entries. Some clients can even "auto-detect" the music playing in your preferred music player, so that you don't have to type it in. Consult your preferred client's documentation and menu options for details. See http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=158 for more information about how to download a client.

If you would like any moods that you select from the dropdown list to appear with a small icon to accompany them, you can select a mood theme for your journal. Visit http://www.livejournal.com/modify.bml while logged in (http://www.livejournal.com/login.bml) and scroll down to the section labeled "Mood Icons". Here, you can select a theme from the dropdown list. To preview the available themes, click the (preview) link next to the dropdown list, or visit http://www.livejournal.com/moodlist.bml. Select the theme you want to use from the list, and save your changes.

Moods that you type in yourself will not appear with an icon unless they exactly match a mood from the dropdown list.

One of the many benefits of a Paid Account (other benefits are listed at http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=131) is the ability to create your very own custom mood theme. Information on custom mood themes can be found in http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=64.

I believe the Site Map needs a link to the Admin Console, in the Tools section. And I'd put a link to the Consle on the Community Management page as well.

I have a closed community and when I need to add a new member, I never remember the direct link to the Console, I always look it up on the Site Map and never find it there, then I go to the Community page and don't find it there either, and -then- I go to the FAQs... Reason enough?

FAQ Edit

Based on some recent changes in Community Moderation, a rewrite is called for for What is the "Moderator" option? How does it work? (FAQ 157).

Feel free to offer any suggestions or criticisms.

edit - as lyspeth pointed out, these changes iirc are only live on the test servers. however, a rewrite will be necessary in the near future nonetheless.

I'm hesitant to post here twice in one night but I just realized something else. Because of some other recent changes, perhaps something should be added in some of the FAQs. Perhaps What is the "Bind to IP address" option when I log in? (FAQ 135)?? I'm not going to draft it up because I'm rather busy, just passing this on to someone who is willing to do this.
