FAQ 134

In FAQ 134: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=134, it says that "Screened comments appear only to the user who posted the entry, the person who posted the comment, and, if the entry was made in a community, the maintainer of that community."

But, if that comment is a reply to another comment, and the LJ user being replied to recieves comment notification e-mails, then that user can also see the comment, not on the web page, but in their e-mail. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but one of the biggest reasons that some users screen their comments is because they are trying to prevent certain issues and communications from occuring.

This was discussed on IRC and some people were confused, so if I totally lost you, the simpler version will follow:

Assume that A,B and C all recieve comment notification emails.

A posts something in A's journal. A screens all comments.
B comments.
A sees B's comment and unscreens it.
C sees B's comment and replies.
Now, both A

Now, both A <band B recieve an e-mail with the comment, even though B is not allowed to see the e-mail on the site.

So, B has access to a comment (viewing access only) that B should NOT have access to.
I tried to see if B could respond to the comment B should not be able to see through e-mail, and B is not allowed to. So, its a read-only issue.

I think that this should be somewhere in FAQ 134, as it is very misleading to our users and we have had support requests complaining about people being able to view comments (through e-mail) that they should not have seen, and according to our FAQ, should not be able to see.
