Oh, Snap!

Proposal for a new FAQ on backdating.

We get a lot of requests in Support from users who don't understand the error message that they receive when they try to post an entry out of chronological order.

Something like this, which mirrors the answers that they're given in Support, is what I have in mind:

Why am I receiving an "incorrect time value" error when I try to update?

LiveJournal does not allow entries to be posted out of date order unless the "Backdate Entry" option is turned on. If you are receiving this error message, you are trying to post an entry that has a date previous to the latest entry in your journal.

This is usually caused when one or more of your entries has an incorrect date. If the last entries in your journal have the correct date, check the date of the entry that you are trying to add. If an incorrect date is the problem, see http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=33 for information on how to resolve it. If you do intend to post your entry in the past, see http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=91 for information on how to turn on the "Backdate Entry" option.
Yeah, that's so a rough draft. I think we need to somehow work in that they need to fix their computer's clock, without restating FAQ #33 so much -- something about how this problem may reoccur if they don't read the FAQ?

I'm thinking that it would work well under Troubleshooting.
