FAQ Proposal: My Journal's URL

Reason: Because we get about 500 of these questions a day in Support, I'm tired of seeing them, and they're really not our problem.
Category: Working With Other Sites
Title: "How do I put my LiveJournal into my AOL/AIM/ICQ/Friendster Profile? What is my journal's URL?"

Your journal's URLs are: http://www.livejournal.com/users/exampleusername and http://www.livejournal.com/~exampleusername. Replace "exampleusername" with your actual username in these example URLs.

If you are a paid user, you also have a subdomain URL available: http://exampleusername.livejournal.com, as explained in the paid accounts benefits FAQ (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=131).

You do not need to do anything to activate your journal URLs, and you can use them interchangeably.

LiveJournal is not affiliated with AOL, AIM, or any other instant messaging or friend-network websites. As a result, LiveJournal cannot give you specific instructions on putting your URL into your personal profile for these services. Please consult the documentation for the service you wish to use for instructions on how to put the above URL into your profile.
