Wanted: volunteers for a huge, demanding, mostly-thankless user documentation project!
We need:
WRITERS:
* Must have impeccable spelling and grammar skills
* Must be intimately familiar with LJ's functioning on both a vaguely technical and end-user basis
* Must be capable of writing to a eighth-grade reading level -- flexible, easy-to-read prose aimed at the "average user"
* Must be capable of working to deadline consistently and regularly
* Must be capable of working in a team environment or partnered with other volunteers
* Must be fed up with the current state of user documentation and willing to move heaven and earth to fix it :)
CONTENT EDITORS:
* Must know LJ (or a specific area) in and out, backwards and forwards, upside-down and submerged in a barrel of water
* Must be capable of working to deadline consistently and regularly
* Must be capable of working in a team environment or partnered with other volunteers
TECHNICAL EDITORS:
* Must have impeccable spelling and grammar skills
* Must be capable of revising material to fit tone and scope
* Must be capable of working to deadline consistently and regularly
* Must be capable of working in a team environment or partnered with other volunteers
If you're interested, holla'.
EDIT: Because I'm dumb, I didn't mention what the project was. We're writing The LJ User Manual: everything younever wanted to know about LJ, top to bottom, start to finish. And then we're pulling a lot of stuff out of FAQs :P
